Superstudio

Like a sheet of a school notebook: white laminate with squares, repeated without interruption to cover the entire structure in honey-comb core wood. A homogeneous and neutral landscape, but with great expressive power. It is the poetic and functional essence of the successful set of Quaderna tables, coffee tables and console tables that Superstudio of Florence, avant-garde of 1970s Italian design, created for Zanotta.

Members of the legendary team of architects and designers: Adolfo Natalini, Cristiano Toraldo of Francia, Roberto and Alessandro Magris, Piero Frassinelli. Basic shape of the Quaderna tables: a continuous, perfectly linear plane, right-angled proportions, sharp edges. It was the only furniture design of the group to go into industrial production. And at the same time it was a great project, so much so that the creation of a new material was specially started for it: the Misura plastic laminate. A true manifesto of the radical culture of all times.
