Zanotta is delighted to announce its participation in "FUTURAMA. Nostalgia del futuro", the exhibition curated by Chiara Gatti and Elisabetta Masala, in collaboration with Storyville, hosted at the MAN – Museo d'Arte della Provincia di Nuoro from 4 July to 15 November 2026.
Bringing to a close the trilogy begun with SENSORAMA and DIORAMA, FUTURAMA explores the imagining of the future as a cultural, political and emotional device, placing the technological utopias of the late twentieth century in dialogue with the critical visions of the present. Design and fashion play a central role, translating the dreams and visions of the future of the 1960s and 1970s into everyday experience.
For the occasion, Zanotta takes part with Allunaggio, the outdoor seat designed by the brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1965. Its very name — allunaggio, the Italian for "moon landing" — captures the imagery to which the exhibition is dedicated: a light profi le, almost suspended on its three long, splayed legs, that seems to have just touched down like a lunar module. It is in this balance between irony and vision that the Castiglioni brothers' seat converses with the technological utopias of the late twentieth century, reminding us how design has been able to give form, then as now, to the desire for the future.
